The causes of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Dementia or Parkinson are largely unknown. Their investigation requires basic and clinical research as well as population-based studies. So far the exchange within and between these disciplines is very very much restricted as standardized guidelines and mechanisms, which would provide comparable results, are still missing. For a quick and efficient translation to therapy however comparability is absolutely essential.
The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), the British Medical Research Council (MRC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) want to develop common guidelines and technologies for the study of neurodegenerative diseases. The agreement will be signed at a press conference in attendance of representatives of the British, Canadian and German governments to emphasize the importance of the international initiative.
We warmly invite you to join the press conference
at the British Embassy,
Wilhelmstrasse 70-71, 10117 Berlin,
