Regardless of any crisis health economy has for years been counting among the growth sectors in both Germany and the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. First launched in 2005 the National Sector Conference Health Economy, organized on an initiative of the German federal government and supported by the state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, has grown into a renowned annual forum for industry dialogue. The 11th National Sector Conference Health Economy will take place in the Congress Center of Yachthafenresidenz Hohe Düne in Rostock/Warnemünde on Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16, 2015. Some 600 national and international experts from business, research and politics are expected in Rostock/Warnemünde.
The program of this year’s conference revolves around topics such as healthy nutrition, the influence of culture on health and long living, the preconditions for old age and a high quality of life and the secrets of a healthy old age. In addition current topics such as health and work environment and concepts for skilled labor are addressed.
Expert forums will look at previous developments and best practices and will discuss innovative concepts, ideas, and future developments that could further stimulate the industry. Again international exchange will be particularly encouraged this year. An international business matchmaking event will make it especially easy for the international and German participants to get in contact with potential partners. Registration for the business matchmaking is open already: https://www.b2match.eu/baltichealth2015
Official partner country of the 11th National Sector Conference Health Economy will be Portugal. Keynote speeches and lectures will deliver insights into trends and developments of the country. High-ranking speakers and experts from business, research, federal and state administration will guide through the program. Both, the accompanying exhibition of German health economy companies and institutions and the pleasant atmosphere of the venue of the Yachthafenresidenz right at the sea offer the opportunity for exchanging opinions and discourse.
The federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is pursuing the aim to become Germany’s number one health region. Already more than 100,000 people are working in the state’s health economy and are generating revenues worth 4 billion Euros. Experts expect a potential increase of up to 15 percent.
