COMPAMED ’18 presents international medical technology experts with their future trend technologies

The product market „High-tech for Medical Devices“, initiated by the IVAM Microtechnology Network, is COMPAMED’s largest joint pavilion with 55 exhibitors. This year, the IVAM area in Hall 8a is characterized by its special internationality. The exhibitors come from Germany, Switzerland, France, the USA, the Netherlands, Austria, Great Britain, Greece, Belgium and Spain.

The highlights and new features of the product market include, for example, bioceramic materials that are used as bone substitute material and components for use in dental technology and endoprostheses, which will be exhibited by the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS.

Another highlight of the exhibition is the presentation of micro- and nanostructured components such as titer plates for stem cell research from temicon GmbH, or biocompatible encapsulations of medical implants and MRI-compatible materials from Fraunhofer ENAS.
Another special feature are nano-coatings presented by Surfix BV, which are applied to inorganic and polymeric materials as well as microfluidic channels, thus enabling biofunctionalized surfaces with anti-biofolding properties. Another innovation is the use of RFID components for the digitalization of processes such as in hospitals, presented by FEIG ELECTRONIC and microsensys.

CorTec GmbH demonstrates innovations in the field of neuroprosthetics and enables communication between the nervous system and artificial intelligence. Brain interchange technology is an implantable system for measuring and stimulating brain activity in long-term use. ams Sensors Germany will be presenting a 35 mm camera module which, with a size of only 1×1 mm, provides clear and sharp pictures in a compact size. The sensor can be used for invasive internal views and shows a liquid video to clinicians working in areas such as endoscopy and laparoscopy.

The EU-funded PoC-ID project will present a prototype of a point-of-care system for the diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in the pediatric context.

Further highlights in the area of actuator and sensor components for medical technology will be presented by Thomas Magnete GmbH and Sensirion AG. As an innovative product, Thomas Magnete has developed an electromagnetic enteral dosing pump, which is used when a patient can no longer naturally consume food. In addition, Sensirion introduces the world’s smallest differential pressure sensor for intelligent inhalers and a fluid sensor for drug delivery used in infusions.

The IVAM product market „High-tech for Medical Devices“ and the COMPAMED HIGH-TECH Forum can be found in Hall 8a. A flyer with a complete list of exhibitors and all presentations of the forum is available free of charge from the IVAM Microtechnology Network.
