Main topics of the 11th ScanBalt Forum are the implementation of the EU Baltic Sea Region Strategy in the field of health economics as well as the cooperation with Russia. More than 150 representatives from science, industry and politicians from twelve nations were participating at the forum.
ScanBalt BioRegion was founded eleven years ago in Teterow near Teschow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Germany, at a conference organised by Medicon Valley, BioTurku and BioCon Valley. ScanBalt today is one of the most important European cooperation networks in life sciences and health care industry. ScanBalt combines the interests of its members at the European level, initiates and develops international projects of companies, universities and research institutions and administrative bodies. The ScanBalt initiative currently consists of 67 members from the Baltic Sea Region and Northwest Russia, Norway and North-Holland. These represent more than 60 universities, over 2100 life science and biotechnology companies, including about 700 research-based SMEs. The office of ScanBalt is located in Copenhagen.
